I got 2 DVD's (retail)

But when I try to install it wants to download 11.1GB??

help?

Here's the highly annoying fix to instaling bf3:

1. open orgin but make sure your game is added to library and you are online, cancel existing download if required.

2. While origin is open insert Disk 1 then run d:\setup.exe from the taskbar (Clicking it from the disk seems slow and won't work??).

3. when the pop-ups appears click agree etc...

4. Check the pause button it must say INSTALLING INFORMATION you will hear your drive reading the disk (~5.5MB/s) also have your second disk ready as when it hits 5GB it will ask for disk 2 (Above Where it would say normally downloading) This means it's installing from Disk. IF IT SAYS DOWNLOADING EA BUGS WERE AT PLAY AND RETRY!!
Keep in mind! after you finish installing disk 2 the game will download a 400MB patch this is normal let it finish and your ready to go!

some info was borrowed from;
http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/battlefield-3-pc/1446055-how-install-disk-version-bf3-2.html

but its not entirely correct so I fixed it, it may be that the warfare pack is different somehow?

edit: posted fix in OP and renamed topic to solved.

If you keep getting booted from servers with a 'kicked by admin' error, do this http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/forum/threadview/2832654489419777330/ worked for me.

Interestingly, I only got that error on our server not others
